The windward islands of the Caribbean

Bjorn, a good friend of mine who lives in Sydney, came to visit me for three weeks. Together we cruised from Trinidad to Martinique, with stops at Grenada and St Vincent & The Grenadines.

Marina Powerboats in Chagaramas, Trinidad, 26 February, 2013. The first real marina since I left Mindelo on 7 December 2012.

 Sailing from Trinidad to Grenada

Saint George’s, Grenada, 28 February 2013. Obviously, we were not the only visitors.

Path to Seven Falls, Grenada.

Seven Falls, Grenada.

The winding road from St. George to Seven Falls appeared to be the favorite playground for the drivers of the pimped minivans which are used for public transport.

Just another sunset in the Caribbean

Anchorage at Clifton, Union Island, 4 March 2013.

A floating bar, Clifton, Union Island.

A useful exercise: Climbing on board without a swimming ladder

Tobago Cays..

..it felt like anchoring in a huge swimming pool.

South west tip of Bequia. Looks like this is one of Schettino’s previous ships.

Sunset at Marina Blue Lagoon, Calliaqua Bay, St. Vincent.

Wallilabou, Saint Vincent. This bay has become famous for it was the main location of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. I found it the place where the locals were most annoying: they insist on providing (unreliable and expensive) moorings and insult you when you politely decline.

On our way to Martinique.
